3日目。今日の泊地は八幡浜。本来なら西に向かい、内子、大洲と見て回るつもりだったが、五段城を覆う霧と強風にめげ、宿の人の勧めに従い、一旦南下することに。窪川あたりまでは走ったことがあり、うまく行けば土佐大正に出られると目論んでいた。しかし結局迷走し、梼原に出ることになった。
